The president of the Diamond Valley Writers' Guild recently resigned, so the Vice President ascended to the position and they held an emergency board meeting about finding a replacement and they decided to ask me.
Needless to say, I was a little taken aback as I've only been with the guild for a year and I'm not even in the same country as they are!
Apparently though, my attendance at almost every meeting and willingness to help however I could via Zoom caught their attention and they've asked me to fill the role of Vice President until the term ends in October 2024.
So, I'm the Vice President of the Diamond Valley Writers' Guild now! Hopefully it won't cut into my writing and editing time too much, but it's a great organization to be a part of.
