Self Publishing 101

ree

Self publishing has become a lot easier these days and is the most common type of publishing now. Mainly because there's no querying agents or publishers... and anybody can do it!

Don't get me wrong, I highly recommend querying agents or publishers. You may find a traditional publisher and then won't have to do all the work yourself.

At the very least though, it's an experience you will learn from and hopefully you'll get some constructive feedback as to why your manuscript was rejected.

This is an index page to several articles I've written about self-publishing a book. Dawn Patrol Publishing was created solely to publish my own books, but I have also assisted with self-publishing books for others.

The articles linked below are intended to be kind of a step-by-step guide to self publishing a book, so go through each of the links and hopefully by the end you'll be able to self-publish your own book.

  1. Establish Your Digital Identity

  2. ISBN Numbers

  3. What do you want to publish?

  4. Where do you want to publish?

  5. Cover Design

  6. Interior Formatting

  7. Launching Your Book

  8. Marketing Your Book

If you find things have changed since each of the articles were written, please let me know. I'll try to keep them updated through my own dealings, but I don't always remember to update these pages.
